WHO WE ARE

Harmony Stables C.I.C is an equestrian establishment that rescues, retrains and rehabilitates horses and ponies from all walks of life. Our community impact is centred around providing opportunities for people from various backgrounds to improve their knowledge and understanding of equine welfare within the equine industry. It is beneficial for physical and mental well being for both equines and people of all ages. Harmony Stables wants everybody to be able to access the benefits of equine therapy, .

Our mission is to find a fulfilling purpose for all equines who arrive at our sanctuary, regardless if they're ridden or non-ridden. Our team of staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing quality education and assistance to both horses and humans. We take pride in our work and strive to make a difference within the economic crisis, as more riding establishments are quickly disappearing.

Integrity

We believe in doing the right thing for the horses, always! Integrity guides us to maintain honesty and transparency in all our interactions, ensuring we build trust with our clients and team.

WHAT WE DO

OUR SERVICES

At Harmony Stables, we offer a range of services to help you learn care for horses. Our services include horse rescue, rehabilitation, training, riding lessons and equine therapy. We also offer workshops and seminars to educate horse owners on proper care and nutrition. Our experienced staff is dedicated to providing the best possible care for your horse and filling the sessions with education and experiences.

Price List

We cater for non-ridden, as well as ridden, experiences; providing in-hand walks/ groundwork experiences. We have an 11 stone weight limit on all riding services. Every horse has their own weight limit based on their health restrictions and body type. The riding section within any of the services we provide are weather dependent due to health and safety reasons. Your session may continue in bad weather without the riding and still be the same price, weather is an occupational hazard in the equestrian world. We also require weight and height details of all participants when making any booking so that we can allocate horses appropriately.

Own a Pony Sessions

Our own a pony sessions include a 1/2 hour group lesson, maximum 6/7 riders generally, as long as weather doesn't deem the menage unsafe. If this is the case then we find other activities that teach clients about caring for horses, similarly  to if they owned their own. Participants of own a pony sessions generally learn to put a head collar on, lead, tie up, groom, tack up, ride, untack, reward their pony with a treat and more depending on the demands around the yard and length of session. 4 Years +

  • 2 hour - £40

  • 2.5 hour - £45

We run holiday clubs on most Tuesdays, Wednesdays (part loan only), Thursdays 9am - 5pm during the holidays. Holiday Club is only available to regular clients who have attended at least 5 regular own a pony sessions. Participants of Holiday Clubs do not always get 1:1 support as is available in the own a pony sessions hence why they need to know the yard, the staff and the ponies well. 7 Yrs +

  • Regular Client - £50

  • Part Loan Client - £40

Pony Parties

We have a selection of packages to offer for your child's special day!

The pony parties cater to larger groups of children than the Own a Pony

Group Lessons

£25 for 1/2 hour group lesson, maximum 6/7 riders generally. All groups are mixed age and ability. Our horses are not used in more than 2 lessons per day as we want them to remain authentic to horses one would go out and view if they were searching for their own. Each lesson has a different focus or pole layout where the complexity can be catered to each individual.

Private Lessons

£37 for 1/2 hour private. Private lessons are only available for 8 yrs+

Pony Days

  • £60 = 10am - 3pm

  • £75 = 9am - 5pm

These days are held on specific dates, at least once a month with

more in the holidays.

These days are more structured than the Holiday Clubs, individuals

who require 1:1 support can still have this.

  • Includes a group riding lesson, no more than 6/7 riders per lesson.

  • If someone doesn’t want to ride they can lead a pony instead.

  • Completing a full groom of your pony/horse

  • Learning to put a head collar on, tie up and lead your pony, along with tacking up and untacking

  • Stable management duties, learning what’s involved with the majority of time spent owning a pony/working on a yard

  • A special activity after lunch, previously we’ve done; weigh taping and worming, rugging, points of the horse, tack room matchup, tack cleaning, pony first aid, learning about different bits, points of the hoof, bathing the ponies, show prep, we try to keep these activities varied to encourage regular engagement to the pony days, as these activities are rarely covered in our usual own a pony sessions (purely due to time). I’ve got a lot of ideas for things we haven’t yet covered!

  • A colouring page of one of our ponies (new releases still coming as our pony family keeps on growing)

  • A harmony stables certificate summarising the various achievements of each participant

  • Lots of pony fun, memories and friendships to be made!!!

Equine Assisted Learning

Please message the Facebook page for more details as each service is catered to the individual.

Part Loaning

We offer part loan contracts to those who are well suited to a pony

they have learned to care for in Own a pony sessions. When we take on

clients as part loans, the aim is that this rider will help to progress that

pony's training. These are supervised sessions. At the moment the part

loan is for £200 per month and requires for loaners to tend to their

pony twice a week regardless of the weather. One session per week is

after school and practises evening routine (without riding) of taking

care of their pony while the weekend session includes their opportunity

to exercise their pony. This may be a riding lesson, groundwork session

or hacking as part loaners are required to have their own gold

membership BHS insurance. We have a waiting list for part loan

contracts but are allocated based on suitability for the horse/pony and

who can provide the best care for that pony.

                                                             Ponies and Prosecco

Why should all the kids have all the fun?! We can be big kids too! A perfect                                                                                activity for a party, get-together or Hen Doo, our cheeky little shetlands would                                                                            make the perfect guests for the occasion. Ponies and Prosecco or Gee-gees                                                                              and Gin (whatever your drink of choice) is similar to the Pony Parties where y                                                                              you get to groom and dress up our Shetland ponies and then lead them                                                                                      through some games and races in teams. These are 'bring your own bottle'                                                                                events so we can't supply the drinks however we provide fluffy ponies with                                                                                  tonnes of character!
